The short version

What you type into the studio is sent to AI companies to make your song. Your songs are private until you publish them. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your songs to train anybody's models.

The rest of this explains that properly.

What we collect

Account: your email address, display name, and photo if you add one.

What you make: the messages you send in the studio, the lyrics and settings of your songs, the audio generated for you, cover art, and mixes you assemble. Also which songs you played and kept.

Purchases: a record of credit packs bought and credits spent. Payment itself is handled by Apple or Stripe. We never see your card number.

Voice recordings, if you use voice features: the consent recording you make, and any guide vocal you record.

Identity documents, if you ask to be verified: the document you upload and the result of the check.

Technical: device and app version, and error reports, so we can fix what breaks.

Who your words are sent to

Making a song means sending your request to companies that run the models. Specifically:

Each of them processes that data to return a result to us. We have asked for, and rely on, their commitments not to train their models on it. We do not send them your name or email.

Do not put anything into the studio that you would not want leaving the app.

Where your songs live

Your account, songs and files are stored with Google Firebase, on servers in the United States and Europe. Audio and artwork are held in a European storage bucket; account records are held in the United States. Using Muzica means your data is transferred and stored in both places.

Your songs are private to you unless you publish one. Publishing shows the song, its artwork and your display name to every other person using Muzica, and gives it a link that plays for anybody who has it, including people with no account. Making it private again removes it from the app, but a copy somebody already downloaded is gone from our reach.

Voice recordings and identity documents

A voice consent recording exists to prove that the person whose voice is being cloned agreed to it. It is kept for as long as any voice model made from it exists, and can be read by our staff only when reviewing a voice request or answering a legal complaint.

Identity documents are readable only by our administrators, never by other users. They are kept while your verification stands and deleted when it is withdrawn.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your songs, lyrics or voice recordings to train models, ours or anybody else's.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your account and its contents until you delete them. Deleting a song removes it and its audio. Deleting your account removes your profile, your songs, your files and your voice recordings.

Records of purchases and credits are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after an account is deleted. Reports made about content are kept so that repeated problems can be recognised.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Write to support@muzica.app and we will answer within thirty days.

Children

Muzica is not for children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes and contact

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes and we will say so in the app if the change is significant.
